It was the coldest day of the year 2021 and we had this epic Whimsical Alice In Wonderland 1st Birthday Party planned to take place outdoors. The weather just got worst and worst and even a stretch tent and windbreakers could not save the day.  We had to move the whole event into my client’s house and make it work. I was devastated as my vision has been tampered with and there’s nothing I could do to save the day. Nevertheless the event turned out totally epic.

Whimsical Alice in Wonderland 1st Birthday Party Decor

I knew from the onset of planning this party the colours had to be different and whimsical. There was no way we were going to go with the Disney version of Alice in Wonderland. Therefore, the colours for this event were carefully chosen to create an enchanted, magical and whimsical event and ambience.

We decided to go with different shades of  lilac, green, purple and pinks. It was out of this world. You have to look at the images but even then, that doesn’t do justice to the actual event!

Bespoke artwork were carefully curated for our backdrops and plinths to bring out the vision that has been living rent free in my mind for months on end.

Alice in Wonderland is not a theme on a budget – there’s so many elements to bring the authenticity of this theme to life that it actually costs an arm and a leg. You either go full in or not go in at all. It’s very artsy and there are so many ways of interpreting it. Your creativity has to be so good that the overall event looks classy and you can feel you are in Wonderland. At the same time, you have to appreciate art to be able to understand the different ways of conceptualising this theme.

We started off by doing a beautiful balloon garland at the entrance of my client’s house on top of her staircase coming down with lots of beautiful flowers. Immediately the guests felt like they were entering a magical place. Guests were welcome with a drink.

We designed bespoke rabbit signage to guide the guests through the different section in the house where we did a few different displays so the feel of going down a rabbit hole was definitely brought to life.

We had set up adult tables and kids tables as well. I wanted to create a magical garden as table features and I am pleased to have achieved that effect.

To finish off this Whimsical Alice in Wonderland 1st Birthday, the cakes had to be epic too. The cakes, cupcakes and cookies took my breath away. They were a work of art with the cookies being carefully hand painted. Absolutely magical!
