One of our longstanding Corporate client enlisted our luxury event planning services to execute a VIP aviation launch for their Chairman. It was only with the greatest of pleasures that Outlandish Events obliged. We knew from the start that this was going to be an epic event and that everyone would be blown away.

The VIP aviation launch briefing from my client was that this event must be luxurious in every way. The event was to take place at the hangar at The Lanseria Airport where a series of private jets are lined up for high-profile clients.

After our site inspection, we came to the agreement that we needed at least 3 days of round the clock set up to be able to successfully pull off this VIP aviation launch. Some of the challenges we faced in this set up was that the hangar was a business port thus our set up cannot obstruct their business from operating as usual. At no cost were we allowed to work after 5pm as it’s an airport and security is extremely tight. Besides, should we work through the night, a crew would have to be assigned to us therefore impacting their hours of “safe to operate” an aircraft or work at the hangar. There was a lot to learn from this experience of setting up an event at an actual hangar. We were dealing with a variety of engineers who operate aircrafts therefore working hours were strict.

VIP Aviation Launch 2021 – Set up

We started set up the Thursday before the event with our lighting crew. As I always preach, lighting is a must for any event as it creates the perfect ambience. Its the cherry on top! The fairy lights set up was mind-blowing, not to mention that it took around 16 – 20 hours to complete.

It was then time to start our greenery installation which was to be placed above the food table along with some bespoke and artsy cloud elements which my client specifically requested. Our greenery installation took about 7 hours more or less to complete. It was wonderful to see all the pieces coming together – finally.

Another challenge we faced on Friday morning was the storm of the previous night caused the whole of Lanseria to be out of power. So we had to work with no lighting the whole of the Friday before the event. We had scheduled our balloon team to do balloon work on the Friday morning till 12pm and as a result of no electricity, all our planning fell through. A generator came to the rescue and we all had to work around each other to maximise the time we had left to successfully pull this event off.

It was one of the most stressful event set ups that I have done. Multiple challenges, red tapes and uncontrollable weather conditions, but with every event we style, there’s always something new to learn.

Seating Style – VIP Aviation Launch 2021

My client wanted to create an upmarket relaxed atmosphere for all guests and delegates therefore we opted for a combination of cafe style seating along with lounging and cocktail seating. The combination of the different style of seating complimented the overall event and created a modern vibe. Of course, our furniture had to be high end luxurious therefore nothing short of gold would have worked. Luxurious gold cocktail tables and beautifully designed food tables were carefully selected . When I showed my client that these are the furniture pieces I wanted to use she was like Yessss!!! Let’s do this!

VIP Airport Slow Lounge Experience

Besides the hangar transformation, Outlandish Events was tasked in recreating a VIP Slow Lounge before guests arrived in to the Hangar for the main event. My client wanted to recreate the whole check in, arrival and inflight process for the guests but with the infamous luxurious Outlandish touch.  For that area, we used a lot of tan and gold furniture. My client’s colours were emerald green and gold thus we added emerald green furniture to the VIP Slow Lounge section with beautiful flowers to finish the perfect luxurious airport experience.

Aviation Launch 2021 Entertainment

We had a photo booth set up so guests could have so fun under the pretext of Passport Photos being taken. We also had a violinist serenading all the guests during the entire event. Catch all that on my instagram stories! 

I can go on and on about this aviation launch but let me leave you with the photos. I had so much fun chilling in a brand new private jet – there was elegance and luxury at every corner of this beautiful aircraft. It was truly an amazing experience and this is the reason that I love my job so much. The experiences are priceless.
