Vintage Up Up and Away 1st Birthday Party by Outlandish Events
12 October 2015Chanel Chic Baby Shower
9 June 2016Vintage.. High Tea.. Baby Shower.. All sounds like an event that Outlandish Events would love to style! My client left all the decor set up and decisions in my hands as long as it was not “too blue”! So Outlandish Events chose a subtle color palette that included several tones of soft colors to ensure a vintage feel and look is achieved right through the function.
Our decor set up included a variety of flowers placed in odd items such as tea pots, cups and saucers etc.. Pearls, candles and vintage books were the finishing touches. Our Hessian runners with lace trimming added to our vintage feel. Welcome Drinks were served to the guests in glass bottles tied with hessian material. Consol glasses has become such a trendy item in party styling and we could not be caught without these added beauties! A vintage ladder, typewriter and vintage cups and saucers all contributed to our beautifully styled baby shower.
The goodies that adorned our vintage dessert table included a beautifully made cake along with cupcakes that looked like a piece of art. They looked so good that the guests were too heartsore to gobble them down! They were literally a piece of art beautifully hand decorated by my talented baker Tanya’s Cupcake Cafe. The best macarons in Johannesburg (I would say in South Africa!) supplied by C’est Mon Macarons.
This vintage high tea baby shower by Outlandish Events would never be complete without a photo booth. Our guests had such a lovely time taking photos and putting on the props we supplied. Vintage Umbrellas, boas and hats were some of the items we made available to the guests to have a fun time with.
Outlandish Events also arranged some of the games which included a message to the mom to be written on nappies to give her a laugh or support during the 3am feeds and nappy changes! Our Mom to be had to guess who the messages were from and she did a great job at that. She clearly knew who her friends are!
Gorgeous photography supplied by Cheeky Pics Photography. My client and her friends were very happy with the photography and wished they had taken more photos! The venue for this baby shower was The Tea Room at Crabtree & Evelyn at the Design Quarter in Fourways. I had the pleasure of working with some wonderful ladies there and would definitely recommend this venue for intimate tea parties. The menu that they provided were lovely tea sandwiches, delicious croissants, tasty scones and mouth-watering tarts. However, all the guests were on strict diets!! I have never been or styled a party where the guests were constantly watching their waist line!
Anyhow, my client was overjoyed by our services and decor set up. This is what she had to say:
“The decor was outstanding and exceeded expectations, everything was so very pretty & perfect. The cake, and other baked goods were too cute for words and delicious! I loved the photo area and can’t wait to see the pictures. I also really enjoyed the nappy message guessing game as well – it was fun. Overall it was a lovely event and would hire Outlandish Events for future events.”
