Mermaid Kisses & Starfish Wishes…

Where do I begin with this Under The Sea 1st Birthday Party…? This party was planned three months in advance however a week before the event, we were still without a venue. Why.. you ask? Well, my gorgeous client was so uncertain about the venue as she wanted something different. She threw out all my kids party venue options! Lol each event comes with it’s own challenges. A week before the event, we found the perfect venue, Monaghan Farm. We were lucky enough that they had availability.

I personally love Monaghan Farm. Modern Farm living at its finest… I love the spacious properties and farm lifestyle yet with modern finishing and details. This function was held at the restaurant on Monaghan Farm. I am not too thrilled about the layout of the venue but it worked for that event. The venue was divided in two rooms with easy access to each other – one for kids area and one for the adults. I don’t like the fact that it’s divided but other than that, it was really beautiful. What it lacks in indoor space, the venue makes up for with it’s massive grounds and gorgeous landscapes.

Our Decor Details…

This Under The Sea 1st Birthday Party was focused on mermaids and all things sparkly and colourful! We used a sequin backdrop to create the mermaid effect. We added some touches of sequins to the dessert table as well. The colour scheme we worked with was turquoise, purple and pink. Touches of pearls here and there to incorporate some elegance. At the same time we threw in some rope, nets and wood to create that charmingly rustic effect yet fantasy-like. Our wow effect for this Under The Sea 1st Birthday Party was the live goldfish centrepieces. Both kids and adults went gaga for them!! The best part was that these fish were up for grabs at the end of the function for whoever wanted some new pets.
