A Lavish Moroccan Iftaar Party
16 August 2016Our Vintage Affair continues…
31 August 2016Under the Sea… Mysterious and magical… This theme was a popular one for us. We styled two functions recently with this theme and both the functions were completely different from the other. This “Under the Sea” 2nd birthday party was more focused on the fish and creatures of the underworld.
Our backdrop consisted of fish nets and we had a low table set up for both the desserts and the kids. We had huge fish cut outs as the birthday girl was so into fish. This Under The Sea decor set up was simple and consisted of lighthouses, seashells, treasure chests and pearls. We played around with these elements to create an under the sea feel. Cushions and beanbags were used for seating. The set-up was quite informal.
The Creative “Under The Sea” food
Being in the midst of summer, we had delicious fruit platters to fit the theme. We had grapes looking like sea urchins, watermelon carved shark and some dolphins from yummy bananas. The food platters for the kids were also creatively designed to fit the theme. Some of goodies made for the kids were burgers in the shape of little boats, pizzas made to look like octopuses and fish. The Vienna’s looked like crawling octopuses as well. All the creative fruits and food platters were made beautifully by Shouneez and she can be contacted on 083 609 4261.
The adults were treated to boerewors roll freshly braaied and served on site with accompanied condiments. Our DIY Frozen Yoghurt Bar included a delicious frozen yoghurt machine with a variety of toppings to tantalize the kids’ taste buds – this was definitely a yummy treat for all!
The cakes, cupcakes and cookies were absolutely gorgeous. The cookies were really amazing and mouth-watering. They tasted better than Bakers’ Eet-Sum-More. The details on the cake were absolutely brilliant! I was really blown away by the creativity and design. Have a look for yourselves!
All party stationery designed by Outlandish Events. Photography by Miss Marshall Photography. I love how she captured the bright colors in the whole event.
The kids party favors the client and I opted for were colorful party buckets filled with goodies. It was appropriate for the theme and we created a beach bucket effect with the bubbles tools stuck on top on the buckets.
Keep an eye out for our second Under the Sea 1st birthday party soon to be uploaded on our blog.
