Luxury High-End Destination Wedding in Blush and White
1 November 2017Industrial Themed Alice in Wonderland Corporate Event
28 March 2018Our first blog post of 2018 is all about this Modern Chic Safari 1st Birthday Party – I loved everything about this theme as it was a fresh and modern twist on the Jungle and Safari themed birthday parties. What I loved the most about styling this party, was the greenery and the grass wall. As for working with the birthday boy’s mom Sheena, it was such a pleasure. I have always enjoyed working with international clients and their appreciation of our work and passion. Working with international clients bears testimony to the fact that Outlandish Events is always on point with international eventing trends which are evident in all of our event styling. Sheena is a Philippin0 living in South Africa and married to her Egyptian husband Mohamed. Mohamed was very involved as well in the planning of his son’s birthday party. Of course, he wanted everything to be perfect and that’s exactly what Outlandish Events created – a perfect Modern Chic Safari 1st Birthday Party.
Modern Chic Safari 1st Birthday Party Decor Elements
With the grass wall trend taking the event industry by storm, it was the perfect opportunity to make use of this element in this birthday party. We created the grass wall and placed the birthday boy’s name in the center. The Green Wall is available for hire at The Decor Style Studio so be sure to check it out if you would like to incorporate this backdrop in your own event.
Lots of topiaries and greenery were part of the decor. A variety of crates were utilized to bring out the roughness of this theme in a tasteful way. Wooden barks completed our dessert table perfectly and created the illusion of the wilderness of the Safari. To give this theme it’s playfulness, we created gorgeous big five cupcakes, cake pops and cookies.
For the kids table, we wanted to keep it simple – we used white kids Wimbledon chairs. We used a variety of greenery and wild flowers and mixed those up with some mason jars and white cages.
The adult set up was quite informal with a few cocktail tables. For these, we made use of tall clear vases and added greenery and some golden animals to it. We were quite pleased with the results.
For lunch, my clients opted for a succulent braai and as they say the rest is history! All the photos are below for you to have a look at. Do leave us a comment and follow us on Instagram. Our blog posts can be shared with credits to Outlandish Events.
